FLEMING FARMING
We are a multi-generational , family owned dairy farm
In 1922, farming brothers Andrew and William Fleming came to New Zealand from Northern Ireland. They started by learning NZ farming practices, working on and later leasing a farm before purchasing a 200 acre farm at Carnarvon in 1935, this was split into two and the brothers farmed half each milking 50 cows. Two of Andrew's sons Thomas and Robert started sharemilking in 1966, with Thomas taking over the dairy farm in 1977 and milking up to 100 cows. In 1992 Thomas and his son Philip purchased Riverland, a 79Ha dairy farm at Ruawhata. They milked 170 cows until 2005 when this farm was sold and a larger one Buttercup Farm was purchased in Ballance milking 320 cows. In 2015 the neighbouring farm Post Office Dairy, milking 160 cows was acquired along with a nearby grazing block for replacement stock.
Every day, our staff & dairy cows combined with nature, produce the highest quality milk.
Our farms are part of Fonterra, a global dairy co-operative owned by New Zealand farmers.
Working together to unlock every drop of goodness from the milk we collect and sharing it with the world.
